Sheila Fredrickson has been a book-lover since childhood, when she could nearly always be spotted with a book in her hand. Her earliest recollections of her favorite reads are Nancy Drew Mysteries, the Beezus and Ramona books by Beverly Cleary, and Cherry Ames Mysteries.

Born and raised in Austin, Texas, the school, church and public libraries were a constant source of fun as she discovered the classics, as well as more contemporary inspiration through creative works like A Wrinkle In Time by author Madeline L’Engle.

In addition to reading, she began playing the piano at the age of 5 and loved photography and creative projects of all kinds. Encouraged by wonderful parents, her only limits were in her own mind.

Reading led to writing, but she also enjoyed music, art, journalism and literary activities in junior high, high school and college.

In addition to school fine arts, her growing up years were spent in church choirs and other youth activities, and she was at church every time the doors were open. Faith and church life have been the source of many of her best friendships and great memories of the past.

After graduating from Mary Hardin-Baylor College in Belton, TX (now the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor), she married her college sweetheart, Buddy, and they served Southern Baptist churches in Texas before settling down in Fort Worth to raise their children.

For the last 25 years she has spent her work life as a nonprofit communications professional while doing occasional freelance graphic and web design projects. She began working with self-publishing authors in 2005.

Sheila lives with her husband Buddy, and their cats, in Fort Worth, TX. They have two grown children.
